I think that this necklace may have been made later than the components, which I believe to be late Victorian/early Edwardian. There are four strands of faceted French jet beads. There are also 10 french jet plaques which I think may have been made to adorn a bodice of a dress, but have very neatly been made into a necklace.   It is a lot longer than shows in the picture, so, if you are slim enough one can wear it as a belt. It is totally unique. It measures approx. 80cm long, the plaques measure approx. 3.5x2.5cm
