A beautiful oval Volupte compact which appears not to have ever been used.  It was made by Volupté Inc. (of Fifth Avenue, New York) an American company, which was in production between the 1920s and the late 1950s. They were known for their range of sophisticated compacts, cigarette cases and atomisers.  This compact has a gold tone metal case, the sides of which are polished metal, whilst the base displays a brushed metal finish.  The top looks like Jasper wear, in a beautiful Wedgwood blue with a  cameo design, which depicts a portrait of a seated woman and a cherub.  The inside is in very good condition with no marks on the mirror and a nice clean puff.  This compact could easily be used for a pill box.  This lovely little oval shaped compact measures 6x4.5cm and 1.5cm deep.
