Looking at the design of the cufflinks I would have put the atomic/starburst theme as late fifties/early sixties, surprisingly the patent number places them between 1945 and 1950.  They are made of a textured gold tone metal set with a very deep red crystal.  Measures 2.5x2.3cm.  Overall the cufflinks are in good condition, but there is a little wear to the plating, but this is mainly on the underside and outer edge, which is appropriate with age.
