The thing that really makes this brooch stand out from all the rest is the fabulous art glass stone in the centre.  It is a an oval cabochon in pink with blue striations.  Surrounding the stone are two rows of gold tone metal decorated with gold tone “studs”.  There is an old barrel type clasp.  Measures 5x3.5cm.  The gold tone metal behind the stone is showing wear, but this cannot be seen when the pin is on.  One of the ‘studs’ looks as if it has ‘ripped’ away from the inner ring (top centre in the photograph) but this is not damage, it looks as if it has always been like this.
