During, and just after, the war years materials to make jewellery were scarce so the designers looked at using other substitutes to make fun and colourful pieces to lift peoples spirits.  These reversed carved lucite brooches became very popular.  This one is clear Lucite with a pretty Crinoline lady in her garden, with red and yellow flowers.  Very pretty.  Measures 4cm
