Bakelite jewellery inspired a fashion trend, spread like wildfire, grew to enormous proportions, and then suddenly died away. It flourished for little more than a decade, particularly between 1933 and 1941.  Although, now it has re-emerged as a desirable collectable.  The flowers carved in to this beautiful green Bakelite brooch could be mistaken for thistles, the leaves appear quite jaggy.  It is beautifully worked and pinned onto a contrasting fabric it would look very stylish.  Measures 6.8x4.5cm
