During the depression years people wanted bright colourful jewellery that was in expensive to jazz up their plain clothing.  Bakelite was a great material enabling big, bright and bold pieces of jewellery to be created relatively inexpensively.  These pieces have now become highly collectible.  Here we have a bangle in a gorgeous shade of yellow with a slight  marbleised effect  Measures approx. 20cm around the inside, 1.2cm wide.
