A really attractive hair comb made of Celluloid, which was used to  create inexpensive jewellery, hair accessories and many other items, which would previously have been made from ivory, horn or other expensive animal products.  It’s main disadvantage was that the material was/is fragile, as a result pieces made from Celluloid are highly collectible and increasingly rare. This comb has it all, an unusual design, with a pretty asymmetrical open work scroll pattern set with small clear diamantes, to add a touch of sparkle.  Measures 12x6.5cm.  The comb s in fabulous condition but I would point out that some of the stones (about 4/5) have darkened with age, but they are so small that it is not really noticeable.
